Brand Spotlight: Elliott Lucca

29 Sep

Last week, I wrote about the fantastic online deals available at theSak.com.  This week, I wanted to introduce you to The Sak’s sister company,Elliott Lucca.  The Sak’s little sister has the same great quality leather bags that The Sak offers along with an added layer of woven, Italian style.

I discovered Elliott Lucca years ago when the line first launched.  They had a super cute black  leather satchel with a woven handle that I HAD to buy as my mother’s Christmas gift.  I watched this bag for months and saw it featured on E! News as a hot buy and eventually in Lucky magazine as a Lucky Break.  For $150, I was able to give my mother her first bag with a dust cover (major step for all bag afficianodos) for Christmas!

Five years later, I am still a huge Elliott Lucca fan.  The designs are always stylish and functional.  The woven leather is luxurious beyond it’s price point.  And the color pallettes are always on trend and fabulous.  My favorite Elliott Lucca bag is a bucket tote that I purchased a couple of years ago.  I can’t tell you how many compliments I receive from strangers every time I wear it.

Elliott Lucca has several new Fall bags available for under $200, which is neccessary in this yet-to-fully recover economy.  Please find my favorites listed below.

The Bucket Bag is Back

14 Nov

For several seasons, I have resisted the resurgence of 80s fashion.  Harem pants, off the shoulder sweater dresses and anything in neon take me back to a bad place…back to when I wore my crimped hair in a banana clip whilst listening to “Can’t Touch This” on my Walkman.   However, I can no longer fight the call of the 80s and I owe it all to the return of the bucket bag.  Across the past two years,  several designers have incorporated this throwback shape into their handbag collections.  Please find some of my favorites below.

In Kristi Love’s Closet: Elliott Lucca’s Catina Drawstring is a deco-inspired stunner.  I receive compliments from fellow shoppers every time I wear it.   The strap is long, the interior is large, and the vintage design is gorgeous.  The Catina is on sale at ElliottLucca.com for $208.

On Kristi Love’s Radar: Alexander Wang took the basic bucket shape to the next level by adding healthy portions of texture, hardware and color.  The “Diego” studded bucket bag is available for $796 at Madison Los Angeles.

On Kristi Love’s Wishlist: I am officially in love with Balenciaga’s Arena Giant Covered Pompon.  This bag is functional, biker chic and I need it in my life soon.  This beauty comes in seven different colors but the watercolor grey Tempete is my favorite.   It’s currently available at Barneys for $1,895.
