Rose Gold Moment

13 Jan

Hi, friends.  If you’ve chatted with me for longer than 25 seconds, you know that I’m having a rose gold moment.  I’ve fallen in love with the gold and copper alloy and hope to compile a three piece collection soon.  My rose gold wardrobe will include the following:

Michael Kors Mid-Size Runway Watch

I’m not particularly fond of the color brown but I have fallen hard for this timepiece.  In person it reads like a “smoky amethyst” and looks quite striking on the wrist.  At $495, this look is certainly not “for less” so for now I’ll keep it on my wishlist.

Stella & Dot Beatrice Necklace

I have been searching for a reasonably priced rose gold necklace for approximately one year.  There’s just one problem – there are very few reasonably priced rose gold necklace options on the market.  Thankfully, Stella & Dot (stay tuned for more news on this front) recently released the Beatrice necklace. At $118 this will be the least expensive piece in my rose gold wardrobe and will likely be my first jewelry purchase of 2012.

Alexis Bittar ‘Miss Havisham’ Pinched Oval Earrings

I have mixed feelings about these earrings.  On the one hand, I love them.  And on the other hand, I don’t love the price.  I’ve been diligently watching these beauties for over a year in hopes of a sale.  Unfortunately, the price has remained steady.  However, the optimist in me is convinced that I can find them for less than $225. Technically, a similar look for less is available but the design just doesn’t speak to me the way Miss Havisham does.

That, my friends, is my rose gold moment.  Are you having a moment of your own?  What’s on your wishlist for this year?  Please share your comments below.

Do you know what time it is?

29 Mar

In fifth grade, I desperately needed a Swatch watch for Christmas.  I gave my parents detailed instructions on what to look for – color, design and the all important Swatch guard.  On Christmas day, I was delighted to discover a Swatch that met my specifications.  It had a black band with a purple, magenta, black and white geometric design on the face.  Unfortunately, as with most of the accessory obsessions of my youth (plastic charm bracelet, anyone), I lost my beloved Swatch watch.

Trying to recapture a bit of my youth, I called my mother and asked her to replace my Swatch watch.  After all, she should have been responsible for making sure that I didn’t lose, ruin or throw away my jewelry, right?  After repeating the request a couple of times and then telling me she had to go, she did agree to replace my beloved Swatch watch.  Well, she said that I should bill her.  Not sure if I believe her, but I’m going to go for it and see what happens.  In the meantime, I’ve gotta pick out my new Swatch watch!  There are so many to choose from that I really can’t decide.  However, Numbers Everywhere is really speaking to me and my obsession with numbers.  And it’s only $55 which is a small price to pay to recapture my electric youth.

I’m Back and Ready to Make a Statement

26 Mar

Hi, Friends. Pardon the interruption in blogging.  I was busy preparing for the most fulfilling and meaningful trip of my life.  I’m back now, just in time to share all of the Spring accessories that are on my growing shopping list.

First up is Olivia Palermo’s jewelry collaboration with designer Roberta Freymann.  Whether by design or realistic portrayal, Olivia’s personality comes across as a bit daft on The City.  However, her fantastic sense of style and her amazing jewelry collection are always impeccable.

Thankfully, she has teamed up with designer Roberta Freymann, to give us non-socialites a well edited collection of affordable statement necklaces.  The necklaces feature grosgrain ties, silk bases and a beautiful assortment of glass beads and semi precious stones in shades of blue, green and brown.  Priced between $175 – $230, these pieces would compliment a simple white tee or a gorgeous party sheath.  Thankfully, there are all in stock at

Nicole Richie recently introduced the House of Harlow 1960 Holiday Collection and I must say that I am officially in love.  The new pieces are vintage inspired, gold and bold!  And like always, they are available at reasonable prices.  If possible, I’d buy each piece in the collection.  Since that’s not an option, I’ll start with the three items below and hope that Santa takes care of the rest.  Images courtesy Singer 22

Alicia Keys Launches Jewelry Collection

20 Nov

Women’s Wear Daily reports that Alicia Keys, in partnership with designer Gisèle Theriault, has launched her first jewelry line.  The Barber’s Daughter jewelry collection is currently available online and will be released on Monday, November 23, at a pop-up shop in New York City.  The jewelry, made of sterling silver and gemstones, has a decidedly neo-soul vibe (think Jill Scott).  Many of the pieces feature inscribed poetry and prayers from Masaru Emoto, the author of “The Hidden Messages in Water.” The collection ranges in price from $85 – $2,500.  Congratulations to Ms. Keys.   Source WWD
